Monsul is a beautiful expansive beach along the coast from the town of San Jose. It is accessed from San Jose by a dirt road that has restricted access during the summer months. During August, when the tarifed car parks are full, visitors are required to take a bus. At all other times you can take your vehicle to explore all the beaches within this stretch of the park. Monsul has an 'other worldly' feel to it. The dramatic volcanic landscape is framed by large sand dunes at the rear of the beach. There is much to enjoy on this huge sandy stretch including shallow waters, rock pools and rocks great for scrambling up, to get a view. You may recognise this beach from the film 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'.
