There are many, very varied cultural attractions to visit close to Agua Amarga. With a rich film culture that is based in the Spaghetti Westerns that were shot in the nearby Tabernas desert, there are various theme parks that have preserved the sets and feature 'Wild West shows' for visitors to enjoy. Beyond the disused gold mines of Rodalquillar is the 'Cortijo de los Frailes' which has been used for various film sets (including 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly') and is also the setting for Lorca's 'Blood Wedding'.
Nijar is a famous centre for ceramics and weaving and you can spend many hours browsing the various shops that sell these wares. We would recommend a visit to the 'Tienda de Los Milagros' ('Shop of Miracles') where the previous owner of Casa Nana, artist Matthew Weir, lives and works.
Granada is just over a two hours drive from Agua Amarga, through some stunning landscapes. A beautiful city, there is much to do here, including visiting the exquisite Alhambra.
